Greetings Members of The Baby Kottage!!
It's that time for another newsletter! We hope you and your family are having a fun filled summer!
We have a lot coming up
for the coming months and we're excited to be launching our website at
the end of this month! So check us out! As always, feedback and
suggestions are always welcomed! You may leave your comments on the
Suggestion Board of the Lounge.
On to official Business:
- TBK is always looking for more Forum Reps and Forum Assistants! If you'd like to be apart of our team, simply send an email to TBKAdmin1@gmail.com, subject: Forum Rep/Assistant. Remember, you must be a member of TBK for at least 45 days and have at least 150 posts.
- TBK is seeking a Historian
position. Your job will be taking over the Dark Room (our photo album
on the site). You must be able to verify members that apply to the
album, and help members with their questions about our photo album and
how it works.
Classes around the Kottage:
- There's still time to sign up to lead the Cooking Class, the Book Club, Gardening and Kreative Memories (Scrapbooking) Classes. If interested, please contact TBKAdmin1@gmail.com or send Rosi a PM!

Activities around the Kottage:
- Fitness Challenge- We
will be doing the Fitness Challenge again in August. The sign up cut
off will be July 31st and we will start on August first. PM your goals
to drewswife or Dayzy or email them to tbkfcmoderator@gmail.com
- August “Green” Repurposed Craft Contest- In August there will be a contest posted in the green room
that will run from August 1st till August 29th. Contestants will create
crafts or art from repurposed items found in their home, work or
collected outside…then they PM the moderator (Paradisemommy) a picture
and description of the piece. On August 30th the pictures and
descriptions will go up for a vote to choose a 1st and 2nd place
winner…any Kottage member may vote once. The 1st place winner will
receive a home made apron and a gift certificate to purchase “green
cleaning” items. The 2nd place winner will receive a home made apron
and a set of home made greeting cards.
- The Blue Room Poetry Corner- Writing poetry can be a wonderful helper in dealing with your depression. So this month in the Blue Room
we will be hosting a Poetry Corner. Each BK member may submit up to
three poems to have added to a booklet that will be created and sent to
all the blue room members by the Blue Room moderators.
- Sweeps Club-
Do you like to win things? Are you a contest entry maven? Well then
this is the board for you. Check in often for links to fun contest
entries and read of wins that our member have had. Remember you have
nothing to loose and really everything to gain! So come and join your
fellow sweepers for some motivation and congratulations on your big
wins!
- The Aunt in the Attic-
Got a question about ANYTHING? Ask the Aunt in the Attic your Baby
Kottage helpful advisor. Questions may be asked ‘anonymously’ so your
identity is protect and the innocent are not maimed. Be it from
gardening, to parenting, to relationships to those tricky sex
questions…the Aunt in the Attic can give you some comforting tips and
some maternal wisdom.
- Book Swap- Tired
of reading the same old books? Don't want to spend money on buying
brand new books? Join the book swap and get some "new" books to read
without paying high bookstore prices. *Members are responsible for postage (media postage rate applies). Be on the look out for the officiall announcement!
Future Events:
- The Baby Kottage is changing its Vendor Fair Info! All
WAH businesses that have paid to advertise their business on the site
will have specail access to the Vendor Fair Forum to post their
business and their products to sell on the fourm. Check out the Vendor
Fair Section for Rules and Regulations, starting August 1! All other
members will have access to the Yard Sale section of our site. Here
members of 150 post count or more will be able to list their childrens
clothes, household goods, and other gently used items for trade or sale
(not for profit) for free. Check out The Yard Sale Section for Rules
and Regulations, starting August 1!
- TBK is going to do a Secret Pal gift exchange!
Starting in October, for Halloween, we will exchange names and do a
gift exchange. We will also do a gift exchange for Christmas too. You
must have 250 posts to participate. We will start sign ups in
September, so if you want to join but do not have enough posts this
will give you time to build up your post count. We will post the rules
as well as the sign up in September, so be on the lookout.
- Bake Off Board
will be open to members, in October. Members can go in and share
recipes and tips from October-December, on their favorite Holiday
dishes! Share and Swap recipes just in time for the Holidays this
year! In January it'll close and then re-open it in February-April,
for Favorite Spring Dishes. Members should place in their posts if
they'd like to have their recipes featured on the site. Members can
include pictures of their dishes as well.
Attention Couponers!
So help us send those expired off for a good cause. The group that sends the most dollar wise is recognized on their website.
Send Angel (notyetamommy) a PM to be involved in this wonderful program!
As of today we've sent over $560 in coupons to our military members overseas!
Other News:
- TBK will allow WAH members to post a banner
in their signature for a fee of $5 a month/$60 a year OR $10 a
month/$120 a year. Members must be of at least Toddler Status (or 150
posts) and have been a member of at least 30 days in order to
participate at this rate. They will also be able to post their
business/products in the Vendor Fair section on the boards. Members
who opt for the $10 option, will also be able to include a 125 x 125
banner in every monthly newsletter and have their banners set up on the
Link Exchange Section of our site! Other Advetising avenues are
available for members and non-members alike. Check out
Advertising Section of TBK for more information.
Coming Soon!
- Blogs! The
Baby Kottage will be offering one blog to all members with a post count
of 150 or more! Blogs will be through Word Press and each member will
be able to choose 5 themes/skins for free! Additional themes/skins will be 5 for $5.
- Tickers!
The Baby Kottage will be offering their very own tickers (wedding,
anniversary, birthdays, pregnancies, vacations and much more!) in the
fall! Look for the official announcement in the coming months!
