In the past, women have had no single place to turn for detailedinformation about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of theillnesses and health conditions that affect them. OWH developed theNational Women's Health Information Center to fill these needs forsimple, accessible, up to date, and accurate women's healthinformation. NWHIC is designed to provide relevant women's healthinformation to a variety of audiences, including consumers, healthproviders, and researchers.
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children - better known as the WIC Program - serves to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, & children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care.
We areNorth America’s leading nonprofit provider of education, training, andcareer services for people with disadvantages, such as welfaredependency, homelessness, and lack of education or work experience, aswell as those with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. Lastyear, local Goodwills collectively provided employment and trainingservices to more than 1.1 million individuals.
In this new century, The Salvation Army is serving more people in theUSA than ever before. We are already seeing large increases in thenumber of Americans seeking the basic necessities of life - food,shelter, and warmth. More than 35 million people received help from TheSalvation Army in 2006, but the magnitude of the mission facing TheSalvation Army in communities throughout the United States remainsgreat.

America's Second Harvest — The Nation's Food Bank Network is the nation'slargest charitable hunger-relief organization.
Food Stamps:
The Food Stamp Program helps low-income people and families buy
the food they need for good health. You apply for benefits by completing a State application form. Benefits are provided on an electronic card that is used like an ATM card and accepted at most grocery stores.
Insure Kids NOW:

Kids that do not currently have health insurance are likely to be eligible, even if you are working. The states have different eligibility rules, but in most states, uninsured children 18 years old and younger, whose families earn up to $34,100 a year (for a family of four) are eligible.
